Abstract

Wales is undertaking a bold transformation to become an anti-racist nation by 2030, guided by the Anti-Racist Wales Action Plan (Welsh Government, 2024a). This vision acknowledges the profound effects of systemic racism on health inequalities and workplace experiences, and positions the nursing profession as a catalyst for meaningful change. The new Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Strategic Vision for 2025–2030 builds on this foundation, charting an ambitious course for nursing and midwifery in Wales (National Health Servie [NHS] Wales, 2025). It places a strong emphasis on professional equity for nurses and midwives from global majority backgrounds and is committed to achieving fair health outcomes for everyone, ensuring that anti-racist values are woven into every aspect of practice, leadership and care. © 2025, OmniaMed Communications Ltd.
